A constructive discussion session followed, where members contributed valuable ideas and feedback. We’re proud to say the current Richmond Board members will continue in their roles for another year, reaffirmed by the meeting in support of the club’s direction and stability.
We are pleased to welcome Tony Taylor back into the Senior Convenor role and acknowledge Janet Tuitama as she concludes her time as a Board member. We thank Janet for her contribution and service to the club.
Looking Ahead to 2026The Richmond Board is excited about the season ahead as the club continues to grow year on year, now proudly exceeding 800 members. Strengthening relationships remains a key focus, including:
- Auckland Rugby League
- Auckland Council
- Grey Lynn Business Association
- Waitematā Local Board
- Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei
- Local schools
We are also committed to strengthening ties between Richmond Rovers, Richmond Old Boys, and Roses Old Girls to ensure a unified and connected club community.
Recruitment remains a high priority across junior and senior grades, with new programs being developed to attract local tamariki, rangatahi, and adults into rugby league.
The return of loyal junior and senior players during the 2025 off-season, alongside strong early registrations for 2026, are positive indicators of continued momentum. On-field performance has been encouraging, with strong Division One campaigns from our Premier and Premier 2 sides, while our junior boys and girls teams featured prominently in playoff contention across their respective grades.
Off the field, initiatives such as our free Suicide Prevention workshops and the after-school homework study centre for junior players have been successful and well received.
With strong leadership, clear direction, and a unified club culture, the Richmond Board looks forward to building on this momentum and delivering another successful season in 2026.
