Premiers need your support this Saturday!

This Saturday 4th May is the Richmond Premier 1st & Premier team’s home game at Grey Lynn Park from 12.45pm and 2.30pm kick off. The Richmond Premier Team game features as the Eddie Poching Memorial Challenge Cup (pictured) will be put on the line. The Richmond club has successfully defended this Challenge Cup for the previous two home game encounters and no doubt Marist will be wanting to take it back with them as they prepare to celebrate their 100th year centenary later this month.

You are all invited to come on down to the Richmond Club Prize giving for our three senior grade teams back at the club 6.30pm.

It’s going to be great weather so come down to Grey Lynn Park this Saturday, and support your Richmond team!

Richmond Juniors kick off 2019 season

This year we have taken to the field with 16 junior teams. And we are proud to say we now have over 70 registered female players within the junior club, which is growing more and more year on year! Well done!

A big welcome to our new players, officials and parents who have joined us from all over Auckland.

Two weeks of games and it’s been great to see our park filled with maroon and blue jerseys. Our little mini teams right thru to our international grades.

What a night our kids had at our “saved by the bell” disco in the school holidays?!

A massive shout out to DJ Alipa who kept the kids moving on the dance floor and playing all their favourite jams.

The night wouldn’t have been possible without the helping hands of our club parents, players and officials who helped out with decorating, prizes and duties on the night- so thank you all!!

Richmond Athletic completes its third successful season.

Our Richmond Athletics club completed their 3rd season on Monday 15th April 2019. This was another successful season that saw up to 36 children participating in a range of athletic sports and games that were designed to build children’s athletic skills and abilities in a fun and interesting way.

Monday saw a seven week season draw to a close with a few races, games and a shared BBQ.

Richmond Board member Gerhard Sundborn has facilitated this club over the last three seasons and would like to specifically thank fellow board member Carol Redman and volunteers Wayne McDonald and Levi McDonald for their support of this Richmond club over the past three years.

Special acknowledgement and thanks goes to Mr John Hynds who sponsored this initiative from the start and has provided equipment, signage and t-shirts for each Richmond Athletics club kid.

The next season will kick off mid-February 2020. We look forward to seeing you all back again next year!

Richmond Club Room Renovation Update!

Volunteers needed for an hour or two this Sunday from 2pm at the Richmond club rooms as we aim to rip up the old carpet ready for the carpet layers coming this Monday 8th April to lay our new flooring. Please message Faitala Tuisila if you are free on 021567048. Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks to North South Trust Ltd for the $6,250 grant for Mickey B Fitness Gym Hire for all Richmond members for the next three months. Get fit and improve your personal health by using the Mickey B Fitness Gym.

Please support your Grey Lynn Tavern, the closest venue of North South Trust. The previous month Richmond also received over $7,000 from North South Trust Ltd to pay for all strapping and medical kits for our entire Richmond club for the 2019 season. Shout out to the unsung volunteers involved in making these opportunities possible.

Roses win 3 from 3 at preseason hit out!

The Richmond Roses suited up for the first time this season on Saturday 30th March 2019 to compete in an Otahuhu Leopards hosted one day rugby league tournament held at Bert Henham Park in Otahuhu.

Six new Roses players pulled on the Richmond jersey for the first time and they really did the Team and Club proud. The team settled into the games quickly, got stuck in and took their chances which was awesome to see. An overall solid team effort all-round the park. The Richmond Roses played three games for three wins, winning the Open grade.

Richmond were the only club with a girls team in every grade which is a massive effort so recognition & thanks to those of you who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this happen throughout the off-season. From the Under 12s to Under 18s the talent, encouragement and motivation on display was amazing. Going by the calibre of players coming through the Richmond Rosebuds teams the Richmond Roses future is looking bright.

The team are continuing to build nicely for the 2019 season ahead which starts this Saturday 6th April against a traditionally strong Papakura Sisters side. So come on out and support with a 1.30pm kick off at Prince Edwards Park, Papakura. Finally, the Roses are looking forward to being more part of the Richmond Club life with the opportunity to play more Saturday games this 2019 season. The team look forward to meeting more members this year so see you at our games and club functions.

2019 Fox Memorial Shield Competition Round 1 kick off

The Richmond Premiers first game of the season kicks off this Saturday 6th April from 2.30pm at Paparoa Park, Howick. The team have been building quietly over the past Summer with a mix of young and exciting juniors accepting the challenge to step up to Premier grade footy plus a good number of returning 2018 Premier players. The team will need your support this Saturday so head on out East Auckland and come along in your Richmond gear as the boys aim to take to Howick. TEAM LIST

Richmond Premier 1st kick off at 12.45pm under new coach but returning formidable Richmond prop forward Taetafa (Fa) Taua'a. His experience in New Zealand's top domestic competition over many years and in recent years as Goodna Eagles A grade Captain coach in the tough Ipswich District Rugby League competition have the boys primed to take to the Fox Premier 1st competition. Come out early to support the next breed of Richmond Bulldogs coming through!

Not doing much this Saturday? Then come on down to the Richmond Club Prize giving for our three senior grade teams back at the club 6.30pm. Our Richmond Roses will be in attendance as they look to take on a strong rival Papakura Sea Eagles away at Prince Edward Park at 1.30pm. The team would also like your support so head on out for a great day of league action!
