A good core of Roses players has been training since January. 2021 Richmond Roses Captain and current Kiwi Fern Charlotte Scanlan, a past Richmond Roses player brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to our young team. Having played professional rugby overseas in Japan for the past 2 years she returned to the Auckland Rugby League competition in good health and stead.
Vice- Captains Maraea Ah Kuoi-Atmore and Kaiyah Atai, are both exciting young talents who came through the Richmond junior grades and demonstrate great leadership qualities on and off the field. Both Scanlan and Atai are members of the Kiwi Ferns squad, along with Roses players Shaniece Monschau, Laishon Jones, Lydia Quedley, and Kahurina Cassidy. 2021 Richmond Roses’ staff include Anthony Murray (“Ants” - Head Coach) with Tash Davies, Sam Mamea, John Nanai (Assistant Coaches) and Liz Ah Kuoi (Manager). “The Girls are developing and progressing well, it will be exciting to see what they are capable of doing on the field. Importantly, the culture is good, and I am sure the Roses ladies will do the jersey, club, families, supporters, and sponsors proud each time they take the field,” says coach Murray. Ah Kuoi says, “our 2021 Richmond Roses Premier Team has been extremely fortunate to have generous support from businesses who are connected to our players and staff. Our team would like to publicly acknowledge and thank our 2021 Richmond Roses Premier team sponsors: Tony Murray Electrical (Major sponsor), Creative Kitchens, Uhila Building Solutions, Russells Curtains, New World Victoria Park, and Carpet Shop. Your support for our team is very much appreciated and look forward to thanking you personally during the season.”
On behalf of the Richmond Rovers, its Board, volunteers, players and the many families, we extend our sincerest condolences to our Chairman Gus Fepuleai and the family, on the loss of his amazing wife Sally. Sally was not only the Chairmans wife, but a great friend to many and an avid supporter of our club. Always on the side-line week in, week out, cheering on the many boys and girls who took the field. Thank you Sally for sharing your family with us, your welcoming smile will be greatly missed. Gus, Jay and Matt, may our prayers of love and comfort ease you through this most difficult time. Richmond grieves with you all.” |
