Trainer, Joe Lundon - (Phone: 027 612 0168) MAGS First XIII coach, Joe was coach in 2011 when MAGS won the Auckland Zone for first time in a decade.Renowned for hard training sessions. Played for Richmond Seniors for 10+ years, a Tag Auckland Rep in charge of Maori Tag, Joe has coached Richmond Junior teams for last six years. Joe is a Secondary School Teacher currently tutoring at Village Sports Academy Police Vocational Preparation Programme. Joe has only ever played for one club- Richmond Rovers. Trainer, Paul Mansson- (Ph 027 847 7376) Played for Richmond since 6 years old, Auckland Rep, NZ Maoris, Pacific Cup, 1 year at Canberra Raiders, then played professional Rugby League in United Kingdom for 10 years, Level 1 Strength and Conditioning (UK qual), Hull Kingston Rovers u19s Conditioner. A Richmond Juniors Coach, Paul has been a successful Personal Trainer at Club Physical for the last 5 years. Paul is in charge of our player’s personal strength programs. Paul has only ever played for one NZ club- Richmond Rovers. Speed Coach and Trainer, Steve Erkilla- Steve is NZ’s foremost sprint coach who will lift our players’ speed to the next level- essential for winning league. Richmond is extremely lucky to have an International professional sprint coach helping our Academy. Steve’s achievements and attitude to sprint coaching can be viewed on his website www.locomotivation.co.nz. Steve played for Richmond as a Junior. Advisor, Fred Ah Kuoi- Fred needs no introduction to adult league followers. For you younger boys, just ask your parents. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Fred still offers physical training for people and keeps us advised of US training trends as well providing us with wise direction. Fred’s vision has been uplifting and encouraging for our Academy. Academic Support, Liz Ah Kuoi- Liz’s role is to review and encourage Academic progress among Academy players. For those students leaving School or who have left school, Liz offers career support and guidance. The first Samoan Dux/Head Girl of Auckland Girls, Liz graduated one of the top students at Auckland University Law School, and also achieved a BCom also. Liz practiced as a lawyer in large law firms, then a barrister, before turning her energies into raising her children. A Richmond supporter ever since her oldest brother Fred started playing at Richmond in the 1970’s, Liz has only ever supported one club, Richmond Rovers. Academy Coordinator, Graeme Atmore- Graeme’s vision was for an Academy for our younger Richmond players. His role is to co-ordinate the Academy sessions, seek out innovations to better our players, and set high standards for our players to chase their goals. Graeme has a passion for creating better opportunities for Richmond players and supporters, in the tradition of his brothers-in-law Peter Ah Kuoi and the late great Afi Ah Kuoi. Others- Players will also be exposed to talks and discussion time with NRL stars, player agents, nutritionists, and former Richmond greats. For example, in 2012 our boys spent time with Steve Matai, Nigel Vagana, Andrew Ryan, Steve Price and former Richmond greats including Peter and Andrew Ah Kuoi, Junior Fiu and Gus Fepuleai, among others. |
