‘Supporting the day to day running and future of our club’
The Richmond Rovers Foundation Club is a fundraising initiative to support Richmond Rovers Rugby League and Sports Club Inc. The concept for this initiative came from Richmond stalwart Peter Ah Kuoi in 2004. Since then, he and a select few of our members have consistently supported Richmond with their $5 weekly or $20 monthly Automatic Payments. Their unwavering support over the years is our inspiration. Monies raised will be tagged strictly to be spent on the mundane costs associated with being able to run this club from week to week, year to year, as sourced from Richmond’s Financial Accounts, last year the general operating expenses came to $11,792.04. The expenses below are what the Foundation Club funds were used on for the 2023 financial year ending . The Foundation Club Fund received from donations: $19,808.02 of which paid the expenses listed below leaving a surplus of $8,015.98. Postal $205.00 Repairs & Maintenance $2.072.09 Auckland Council Fees $575.00 Electricity & Gas $3521.03 Cleaning $413.31 Water Rates $3,701.91 Internet/Phone $319.86 Insurance $5897.91 In 2022, Richmond received approximately $5635 annually from Auckland Rugby League's Club in the Hub, leaving a shortfall of roughly $22,000. The proceeds from the Foundation Club enables us to eat away at most of the $22k expenses for the year which lessened the burden on our club volunteers who are tasked with finding the remaining funds to keep the club afloat. At the start of 2022 financial year there were 44 Richmond supporters at the time who had created Automatic Payments. By the end of the financial year membership had increased to 64 and the club collected for the year a total of $17,655 per year. These funds keep our club running and we are so grateful and thankful for the support our Foundation Club Members gives to our club. In 2024, we have 60 Foundation club members. Our overall target is to grow membership so that we raise annually $26,000 per year to meet our annual operating costs. To achieve this, Richmond’s goal is to have 100 supporters to sign up to this initiative and start their Automatic Payments.
