With the 2017 Season coming to a close, we should be all very proud of our Richmond Premier Coach Steve Buckingham, his Assistant Coaches (Henri Nicholas Anthony Murray & Trainers Daniel Mcgregor, Team manager Liz Ah Kuoi Atmore and the entire Richmond Premier and Premier 1st team squad for a huge 2017 effort. With our young but motivated squad this year we are all very proud of their efforts. It certainly wasn’t an easy season but the spirit of each player who battled and competed was phenomenal effort. No doubt each individual gained experience and learnt at the same time for the 2018 season. Well done team and especially to the partners, kids, friends and family who continued to support our Premier grade senior men teams!
Both the Richmond Under 15s & Under 17’s ladies’ teams made it to their respective grand finals which was a fantastic achievement! A huge credit goes to Tasha Davies and their respective team coaches and Managers for being with those young Rosebuds all year round. And to top off the great efforts the Richmond Under 17’s won their grand final! Well done. An unlucky loss for the Richmond Under 15’s but a huge congratulations from our club and Richmond Board for making it to the grand final in its first year of operation, better luck next year girls!
Big ups go to Allan Ettles & Tonu Tuiali’is Richmond Under 17’s side for also making it to their grand finals. They were very unlucky to go down by only two points to neighbours Mt Albert Lions. Great effort none the less, the Richmond club are very fortunate to have some very talented boys in this team for the future of our club and awesome coaches to support the development.
Both Richmond Premier 2nd teams will fight out the prestigious grand final with the Richmond Uso’s playin the Richmond Tokes. It will be a mouth-watering battle for supremacy between these two teams. May the best team win! We applaud our three senior men grade teams and know that we can celebrate a Richmond winner will be announced at the end of 80 minutes.
This weekend is also very important for our Richmond senior ladies’ team (our Richmond Roses) who are playing their major semi-final against Papakura Sea Eagles. The winner will play Manurewa Marlins in the women’s grand final. So, all the very best to our girls this weekend! I’m positive that they will account for Papakura then face Manurewa in the Grand Final in two weeks’ time.
Some major achievements by our Richmond club teams to finish off another successful season, another great year for the whole Richmond club in NZ and abroad as we remain in the first division (Fox Memorial Shield competition) for another season which makes it the third year in a row for remaining in the Fox Memorial Shield competition. This is a major achievement for growth and stability within our club ranks. Congratulations to everyone and thank you for your loyal support of our Richmond club
