Hi all,
We have  kicked off with a great start to the Season with the Richmond Old Boy’s reunion  and the 100 CLUB on Friday night and also Paul Manson's dad's birthday on  Saturday night. Thank you to Tina, Adam, Anita, Sali & Floyd, Kyla and Sally  for helping out with the bar, finger foods and the 100 year centenary registrations. I had heard from Adam that both nights were really good over the bar and that we also had guys joining the 100 CLUB for this year. On Wednesday, the Richmond Club hosted the Auckland City Council walkways project BBQ which was organized by Anita and Russell with the Council donating the Richmond Rovers  Club a generous $500.00. Thank you to Anita and Russell for arranging this. I’m just not sure about serving vegetarian sausages?!
Lastly, thank  you to everyone for visiting our website.

Richmond Club update: February

Hi all,

Just a quick update of where we are going into the February month. There are still a number of things to sort out before the
season  is under way late March. We have the Senior Convener’s position to be filled and  we are also looking to find a Merchandising Officer to be confirmed. It is very  important that we have structure of governance and systems of operating in place  before the season kicks off. The Junior Convener and Secretary will continue  with Carol and Sali looking after this portfolio (Great news!). It is important  that we have the experience of these two ladies looking after our Richmond  juniors.

The Centenary Committee headed by  Graeme Atmore is making progress, we collectively need to push our members and those who will be attending to register and pay their $20 registration fees. All  the info can be viewed by clicking  here.

Behind the scenes we are discussing the  opportunity of getting our Club registered as a charitable Trust and also our  Building Committee and fundraising committee are now planning to seek funds  ($10,000.00) for the first stage of this process which is to obtain Building  Consent! We are also invited to attend the Grey Lynn Advisory Group meeting on  the 11th of this month in which we will be continuing the discussions for future  plans of our Building Complex.

The seniors  this year under the guidance of Ming Mafoe and his management team have been  first Class with their pre-season and preparations for trials before the 2013  season kicks off. The Junior Academy as well under Graeme Atmore has continued  with their momentum this year. Most of these kids are a mixture of under 13’s,  14’s up to 18’s and under 20’s. There will be an opportunity for a few of these  boys to be trialling at the Gold Coast Titans in a few weeks’ time- all thanks  to the hard work of Graeme Atmore and Richmond old boy Nigel Vagana in  Australia.

We look forward to the rest of our  other senior teams to kick off their trainings, like the Premier 1st, Senior  A’s: Ali’is Uso’s, the Toke’s, maybe an open age restricted grade, the Masters and also the Richmond Roses to be coached by George Apelu in 2013.

Finally this month on the 15th of February is the first 100 Club Gathering combined with the old Boys annual Reunion, this  promises to be a great night.

Happy new year to you all and your families and thanks again for this opportunity for me to lead us through our Centenary year! I am humbled by it with a great sense of honour to take on this role with such pride for this great  club. I thank all those that were in our committee last year for their fantastic  efforts and dedication to make it a very successful 2012 for our Club and I look  forward to continue pushing through with this momentum!

Just a heads up for some important  matters we have to attend to when everyone is back from holiday....
1. Confirmations of Committee Structure and further appointments for vacant positions
2. Sponsorship Committee to meet with Seniors Coaching Staff and Management regarding Sponsors etc.
3. For me to arrange a meeting with 2012 committee members with the hope that they will continue with the Club in 2013.

Finally, please let us know about anyone else like that want to be involved with the committee or 100 year centennial celebrations this year.

Happy Holidays and stay safe
Gus
