Just a quick update of where we are going into the February month. There are still a number of things to sort out before the
season is under way late March. We have the Senior Convener’s position to be filled and we are also looking to find a Merchandising Officer to be confirmed. It is very important that we have structure of governance and systems of operating in place before the season kicks off. The Junior Convener and Secretary will continue with Carol and Sali looking after this portfolio (Great news!). It is important that we have the experience of these two ladies looking after our Richmond juniors.
The Centenary Committee headed by Graeme Atmore is making progress, we collectively need to push our members and those who will be attending to register and pay their $20 registration fees. All the info can be viewed by clicking here.
Behind the scenes we are discussing the opportunity of getting our Club registered as a charitable Trust and also our Building Committee and fundraising committee are now planning to seek funds ($10,000.00) for the first stage of this process which is to obtain Building Consent! We are also invited to attend the Grey Lynn Advisory Group meeting on the 11th of this month in which we will be continuing the discussions for future plans of our Building Complex.
The seniors this year under the guidance of Ming Mafoe and his management team have been first Class with their pre-season and preparations for trials before the 2013 season kicks off. The Junior Academy as well under Graeme Atmore has continued with their momentum this year. Most of these kids are a mixture of under 13’s, 14’s up to 18’s and under 20’s. There will be an opportunity for a few of these boys to be trialling at the Gold Coast Titans in a few weeks’ time- all thanks to the hard work of Graeme Atmore and Richmond old boy Nigel Vagana in Australia.
We look forward to the rest of our other senior teams to kick off their trainings, like the Premier 1st, Senior A’s: Ali’is Uso’s, the Toke’s, maybe an open age restricted grade, the Masters and also the Richmond Roses to be coached by George Apelu in 2013.
Finally this month on the 15th of February is the first 100 Club Gathering combined with the old Boys annual Reunion, this promises to be a great night.
