![]() Given the time remaining in the season, Auckland being in Level 4 with the uncertainty of when we may be able to enter a Level which allows players to get back into full contact, the decision has been made to cancel the remainder of all club football for 2021 - the main reason being due to Player Safety Another is Auckland Council restrictions around field availability. Juanita has crunched the numbers for finals and the first round alone she would require 37 fields - second round she would need 30. Council have stated there is no way fields would be ready until the end of this month (6 weeks) which does not allow time for proper final rounds. Keeping in mind Summer sports are also knocking at the door. Given the amount of time away from the fields, grass has over gown, new ground markings would be required and at a cost. Council do NOT have an exemption to maintain the fields over the current lockdown levels. Region of Origin has also been cancelled with only National representative Grades to continue this year - levels permitting. Masters tournament to Queenstown has been moved to October 2022 Click here to DOWNLOAD MEMO. Richmond beat out a valiant Hibiscus Coast Raiders 30-16 at Stanmore Bay Reserve to finish the Fox Championship competition in second position with 10 competition points. Ending the season first equal with Manukau BlackHammer (1st) and Northcote Tigers (3rd) based on points differential. Te Atatu Roosters finish in 4th position and look to the 2022 season in the Fox Memorial Qualifying Series.
The Junior Fiu coached Richmond side are a slick operation with a mix of youth and experience led by a strong leadership group and although have had recent losses to Otara 24-20 at Grey Lynn Park and 24-10 loss to Northcote away at Birkenhead Memorial Park the side are well versed to take to the playoffs with great confidence having beat Manukau 28-22 and Te Atatu 30-12.
