Under 6s
Fun filled weekend  full of league. Saturday we were up against Marist and came away with a win  Richmond 20 Marist 12. Congratulations to our Player of the Day Nukutawhiti Gray  and our Runner Up Zephan Pita Lafaele. Sunday we had our gala
day and played a  total of 5 games against the following teams Papakura, Mangere East, Papatoetoe,  Pakuranga and Manurewa. Well done to our future little stars and a special Thank  You to our Parents for their support.

Under 7s
The pirates fielded a good, quick team that forced our boys to work  hard on defence. With a few good tries out wide and the pick-up of some loose  passes the pirates took the win by three tries Richmond 28 – Pt Chev 40. Good  effort however by the doggies and really good to see some keen players out there  rearing to go on the day.

Under 12s:  Richmond 16 vs Marist 10.
A real error -riddled effort from  Richmond saw Marist team take a 10 nil lead within five minutes. Poor handling  and mis-drected kick saw Marist score long-range tries. The Rovers finally woke  up and their pack of Denzel, JJ, Darius, Terekia, Rona & Zion ran with  greater intent making huge amounts of yards. By half-time the scores were level  through a typical Denzel bullocking run. The second try was a gem and a great  reward for Jordan who backed up Simi's big break and received the inside pass to  dot under the posts. The second half saw Richmond gain the ascendancy with Simi  scoring from halfway after some quick passing by the backs. The game was called  off seven minutes early due to a serious (not life-threatening-thankfully) to a  Marist player and the game being halted for over 5 minutes.
Player of the Day: Rona
Awards: Zion Epiha, Darius,  Jordan

Under 13s
Richmond under 13’s played  Northcote and won 54-0. The focus this week was on the marker chasing out and  putting heat on the 1st receiver. The Bulldogs did that very well and the Tigers  struggled against a determined defensive line. On the back of that, we had a lot  of possession and ran in 10 tries. One, a 98m intercept by Dylan Tavita and  Hayes Okesene getting a hat-trick. In all, a very pleasing team performance.  Half way through the season and everyone is putting in strong performances and  contributing to the team effort.
Player of the Day: Dylan Tavita
Best  Forward: Legacy Talagi-Tautuki & Hayes Okesene
Best Back:   Immanuel Ualika, Carlos Henry & Sam Tofa-Timoteo
Coaches  Award:   Fa’alolo
Selemaia & Ezael Tautuki

Under 15s: Richmond  90 v Bay Roskill Vikings  0.
After losing by 70 points to Otahuhu last week, this  was a 160 point turnaround- surely a Club record.  Best Forward Malrick  Lavea. Best back Elijah Ngamu, who was looking like a mini Jonah Lomu.  Big Ups  to Isaac Ah Kuoi-Atmore, Elijah and Conrad Collins who stayed on the field for  the next game to help out the u18s, who only had 11 players.  With no one  from the u16s and u17s offering to play, these three boys took up the challenge  and all stood their ground against boys 3 years older. A great show of Richmond  spirit.

Richmond under 16s, 58 vs Otara  16

Richmond Roses, 78 vs Papatoetoe  0.
Richmond Premiers, 34 vs Otara Scorpions 32

Richmond 11s 38 – Hibiscus Coast 0
Went up to Stanmore Bay, and played Hibiscus Coast came away with a fantastic win and held the defence all the way through the game. Solid performance from the whole team. Way to go Richmond Top Dogs!!

U13 v Otara Braves: Won 80-0
After getting schooled last week by Mt Wellington, we worked hard on our dummy half running and line defence. This seemed to work for us and had Otara in trouble by half time (48-0). Dylan Tavita had an outstanding game at right centre as well as his wing man Nathan Ngaropo. They scored hat-tricks as did Hayes Okesene and Dylan converted 12 of 14 tries.
The left side had a pretty quiet day as all the play happened on our right side. The whole team played well and could see combinations developing nicely. There were also strong performances by Mikey Williams, Carlos Henry, Sam Tofa-Timoteo, Ezael Tautuki and Immanuel Ualika.
Still more to work to do on Tuesday and Thursday.
Player of the Day: Dylan Tavita
Best Forward: Hayes Okesene
Best Back: Nathan Ngaropo
Coach's Award: The Team

Under 12s at Bay Roskill, 14/4/2012  Richmond 34 Bay Roskill 22
The Rovers started off the game in grand fashion, scoring three quick tries through the rampaging forward pack and our speedy back line.
To the Vikings credit, they rallied after Richmond's poor ball control and tied the game through strong running through their fullback.
An upset looked likely as          the Viking scored two more tries however Richmond countered when Jacob Taupau made a great defensive goal line tackle, jarring the ball loose and then running the ball all the way down to the opposing 10 yard line. The Rovers scored from here and Vito Tevaga & Denzel Gaoa-Tolua scored tries to put the game beyond doubt.
POD-Terekia - for his great defensive work & leading the attack from dummy half.

vs Howick, 21/4/2012 Richmond 30 Howick 8
Richmond learnt its lessons last week about poor ball control and controlled the game from the outset with Terekia & Zion Pereweti marshalling the forwards well. Our big forwards ran hard all day and our possession was great. JJ Tuiallii ran hard all day while Vito Tevaga scored multiple tries and the return of our Tongan Terror, Simi Latu saw him score two tries. Darius Lavakula played a solid game in attack & defence. He is a model of consistency.
POD- Vito Tevaga
Awards: Darius JJ in the forwards
Backs Terekia, Zion

Well done to the kids that played on Saturday. We played against Manurewa. Score was 24 – 16 to them.  It was good to see the new players stepping up and running the ball.  Player of the Day went to Toni Samuela who played really well, and wasn’t afraid to get in and get the ball.  A good effort was also shown by Jaedin and Jeannette.  Well done.
Also a big thank you to all the teams and club supporters who came and supported our cake stall.  It was a huge success and we manage to raise $407.00 for our team.  Once again thank you.
