On Monday 7th December the Richmond Rovers Rugby league and sports club conducted its 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM was well attended by financial members of the club in which Gus Fepuleai presented the Chairmans Report, Graeme Atmore presented the Treasurers Report, Carol Redman presented the Junior Control Board report. Apologies were sent from Henri Nicholas for the Senior Control Board report.
A valuable discussion session was held at the end of the meeting with good suggestions coming forth from valued members of the club. The present Richmond Board member’s roles were to continue for another year to the acclaim of the meeting and for the good of the Richmond Rovers club, with the changes being that Richmond welcomes George Apelu into the Senior Convenor’s role and Sheree Perenara as new Board member.
The Richmond Board are excited about its 2016 prospects especially as the club continues improving year on year with its relationships with the Auckland Rugby League, Auckland City Council in hope of a new club facility and park availability, local businesses who kindly sponsor the Richmond club and the local community. Focus will also stretch to strengthening the relationship between the Richmond club, Richmond Old Boys and Roses Old Girls. Recruitment is of high importance for junior and senior grades so programs are being devised to attract local kids, teens and adults.
The Richmond Board see the 2015 championship results of the Premier, Premier 1st, Premier 2nd and Under 16s teams as key performance indicators that the club is on the rise. Providing free workshops such as the Suicide Prevention forums as well as a free after school homework study centre to junior players were also successful programs. With a unified club built on strong leadership, direction and encouragement the Richmond Board look forward to delivering again in 2016.
