Richmond Premier 1st vs. Mt Albert was played at Grey Lynn Park on Saturday 30 April.
Richmond dominated the visiting Lions in the opening first half through strong hit ups and defence around the ruck area. Led strongly by the Richmond forward pack was Tristian Smith, Masi Moala, Koki Godinet and Junior Uale. Handling errors from the home side allowed Mt Albert back in the game to level the points up at 16 all at half time.
The second half was an unusual slow start for Richmond,where the lions ran away with the win that left us with our first loss of the 2016 Fox Memorial Premier 1st competition season. Final score: Richmond 16 to Mt Albert 32. Player of the Day: Rick, who also debuted for the Richmond club.
