From Richmond Old Boy Hec Martin
A Memorial Service was held for the Late John Sparnon at the Glenora Bears Rugby League Clubrooms at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday 4th December. John (aged 71 years) passed away in Thailand on 15th November after suffering a heart attack and following cremation his ashes were sent back to New Zealand. The Glenora Clubrooms were packed full of members who knew John and the following Richmond Old Boys who were present at his Memorial Service namely: Gary Ford, John Garrod, Clive Hill, John Kyte, Mike & Maureen McLennan, Brian Martin, Hec Martin, Bob O’Brien, Pat Quinn, Fred Smith.
