It’s an exciting season ahead for our 2022 Tony Murray Richmond Roses Premier Women's Team – 2021 featured a new look team and in 2022 the Roses have much of the returning flair with plenty of young talent coming through our well-established Richmond Rosebud junior grades. As well as a dose of experienced Richmond ladies and an injection of new players to our mighty family club our Richmond club supporters will be excited with the mix of youth and experience particularly with returning Kiwi Fern veterans Laura Mariu, Charlotte Scanlan, and Juliana (Jules) Newman.

Roses 2022 Captain Maraea Ah Kuoi- Atmore (only 20 years old) is a great example of our young talent and leaders. Maraea captained the Roses for the second half of the 2021 Season when Charlotte Scanlan was involved with the Newcastle Knights NRLW and her maturity and selfless dedication to the Roses team and club on and off the field has earned her the Roses Captaincy role for 2022. Vice Captain’s Kahurina (Kahu) Cassidy and Juliana (Jules) Newman are two very exciting, dynamic, and vocal players who both also deserve their leadership roles. Players who are currently part of the wider Kiwi Ferns Squad include: Kaiyah Atai, Shaniece Monschiau, Charlotte Scanlan, Laishon Jones, Mela Maxine-Vili, and Lydia Quedley.

Our 2022 Roses Staff are Anthony Murray (“Ants” - Head Coach) with Tash Davies and Sam Mamea (Assistant Coaches), Keneti Ah Kuoi-Atmore (Trainer) and Liz Ah Kuoi (Manager). Coach Ants says, “Our girls are progressing and developing well, it will be exciting to see what they can do on the field. Importantly, the culture is good and I’m sure the Roses ladies will do the Jersey, Club, families, supporters and Sponsors proud each time they take the field”.

Our 2022 Tony Murray Richmond Roses Premier Team has been very fortunate to have some fantastic generous support from awesome businesses who are connected to our Players and Staff and our team would like to publicly acknowledge and thank our Tony Murray Richmond Roses Premier Women's team sponsors for 2022: Tony Murray Electrical Inspections (Major sponsor), Creative Kitchens, Russells Curtains, Ah Kuoi & Atmore Residential, and BFT Ponsonby.

We also show thanks to 2021 sponsors and wish them the very best this year: Uhila Building Solutions, New World Victoria Park and Carpet Shop.

Your support for our team is very much appreciated and we hope to be able to thank you personally at some of our games this season!

Massive congratulations to two Roses players Lydia Quedley and Moana Cook who both gave birth to their babies in January, have been training hard since and are ready to pull on the Richmond Roses Jersey for the 2022 Season: Lydia Quedley and Paulie Roache welcomed their son Noah this year; and Moana Cook and Hawaiiki Annandale welcomed their daughter Waiana this year.  Two precious additions to the Richmond Family!!
